A MURDOCH University project is attempting alleviate the isolation felt by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) sufferers by creating a virtual environment for them to interact with the online world of Second Life.

Murdoch University media teacher Dr Kirsty Best has created an online recreation of the Murdoch campus ME/CFS centre as part of an ongoing research project to determine if technology can overcome the social and physical isolation felt by ME/CFS sufferers. It also aims to determine if there are barriers to accessing the technology for people with the illness.
