Australia Day Book Giveaway Blog Hop
So the lovely people at Book’d Out kickstarted this off. Basically each blog involved runs a competition of some sort and the point is to give away a book by an Australian author to a lucky winner or a book voucher or something like that. This means not only do I have to come up with the means by which you participate as a reader and I pick a winner but also what you will get if you do win. Curiosity lands on Mars today!
UPDATE: Less than 100 minutes to go. Explanation: If you didn’t know already, the latest information from Mars will soon be vending our way. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) and the Mars Science Lab (MSL) team have sent out Curiosity the rover and it will land on Mars on Monday morning in 100 minutes. In a few hours time we may have the first pictures from the landing. There will be “seven minutes of terror” according to the MSL team at NASA where they won’t be able to control it and it will be awhile before they even know whether it was successful. Hungerford Award: Sponsors: Writing WA, New Edition Bookshop, The West Australian, & Fremantle Press Prize: $12,000 AUD + a publishing contract with Fremantle Press Eligibility: Australian citizens or permanent residents who reside primarily in Western Australia only.
