HIM and the experiment to write the draft under watching eyes
On January 1st I started a new project. I was going to write a new book and get Sedition edited and you got to watch while I wrote. And I told you that I was setting up a Patreon account for those who wanted to donate towards editing fees for Sedition by letting them see the drafts of HIM as I wrote HIM.

Commutes and wishing and sleep. And possibly also swimming through air.

Happy New Year! 2016 and a new project!
Happy New Year! I wish you all the best for 2016.  And I hope none of you are too hungover. It’s the time for resolutions and goal settings. So tell me what your goals are for this year? And how are you planning to keep to them? The second question is a bit more important than the first one. I can set a goal for myself but I need to set a plan in place or I won’t achieve it. And this plan, it needs to work with the person that I am. The person I am will happily map out every possible bit of time and itemise everything possible…

Marianne Delacourt’s Sharp Shooter
I think often about what it means to stand in a spot in one place and to take it all in. To live in a place long enough to be someone who understands how life works its way through that spot’s particular urban or rural landscape. And how it feels like saying hello to an old friend when you pick up a book to find yourself in a place that is both that place you know and also perhaps for the sake of the work, not quite that place either. But that’s just the start of what surprises you about the Tara Sharp series by Marianne Delacourt, pseudonym of Marianne…

Capering criminally with the challenge: what I read for Australian Women Writers 2013
In 2013, I joined the Australian Women Writers blog and project as the non-fiction contributing editor. This meant I also ended up taking the challenge of at least reading if not reviewing various books by female Australian authors. I read, I reviewed, I interviewed. Here's the round up of the books, the authors and the fun.

Five years!
It’s been five years since I started freelancing. Or at least it was on Saturday. Five years. Wow. A lot can happen in five years. I started freelancing because I knew it would take awhile to get my foot in the door and work in-house and also because I wasn’t entirely sure I wanted to. Freelancing is great – it allows me to work with a lot of different people, it allows me to meet different people and it allows me to mentor some and be mentored by others. It allows me to try new things and to keep constantly learning. And I am reminded that it also means that…
